EU Unveils 47 Strategic Projects to Bolster Raw Material Supply

The European Commission has selected 47 Strategic Projects to bolster domestic raw material capacities, marking a significant step towards securing and diversifying access to critical resources within the EU.

The newly adopted list of projects aims to strengthen the European raw materials value chain and reduce dependency on external suppliers. This initiative is a cornerstone of the Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA), which sets ambitious targets for the EU to meet 10% of its extraction, 40% of its processing, and 25% of its recycling needs for strategic raw materials by 2030.
